I'm not putting tons on, just the odd strand to hang down with the tiny tassels .. just to emphasise the tassels a bit. Like you, I don't mind a few but not all over ....don't like sequins, yet I seem to have a collection of them in tubs too.. higz Cher

Are going to be knitting one or crocheting one? I've knitted one, and now on the second one, I did start the second one crocheted, but didn't like it as much as the knitted one, I like a closer knit fabric, rather than too open,

I also found that once casted on, and I'd gone around the second row, picking up the bottom loops of all the stitches, the third knit row, which I did in moss or seed stitch, was very hard going, even though I'd made sure I casted on loosely, so I used a second circ just to knit off and slip the stitches onto the needle end I should have been knitting off with. once I'd done two rounds like that, I found it all easier to manage .. maybe the circ I started with is too long...

What say you Mirjam? What length circular is best for 200 stitches cast on, and therefore 400 altogether???

Cher the first 2 rounds are a bit HARD ,,,, i have though that maybe next time i eill cast on with a Bigger sizes needle than intended to knit with ,,, this might solve the problem ,, What length circular ,,,,, wait ....it is on my table ,,,, from tip of needle to next tip it is 83.5 cm , [almost 33 inch] and the nylon part of the circular is 57 cm [almost 22 1/2 inches . i had on it 432 stitches ...

I hope this helps Cher !!! mirjam >

Hi Mirjam, I think I need circs with less length on the needle part and thus more plastic cord bit as the needle bits on mine as as long as dpns higz Cher

this way ,, after you have all your st. on and closed twisted round one , ta= ke a matching DP and knit 20 st with color A , now take take the circular Ne= edle edge and knit [or purl] the st on the dp with color B , go on further i= n this way working 2 rounds almost together ,,,, it might also enable you to= chnage the colors in the round while working this way ,,, mirjam

Hi Mirjam, thats a good tip...however, I'm not worried about that bit at the minute, but you know the hard needle part of the circs? Well those bits on mine seem too long, as I find it hard to pick up my second round, as obviously that part of the needle doesn't bend.

lol Cher

CHER try a Cabling needle for the first round !!!! knit 2-3 on the cable needle and slip ti circular ,, until it gets going ,,, sorry about that ,,,, Maybe my stitiches are loosed because i CAST KNIT ON MY STITCHES ???? mirjam

Hi Mirjam yes this is what I am doing, using another circ so that I can knit a few stitches, then transferring them onto the working circular...takes a couple of rounds before I can get going...lol. I did try casting on with waste yarn and then knitting a round with the main yarn, and picking up the main loop from the waste yarn, on the next bottom round, but that was as bad.. transferring is alot easier.. I do cast on loosely too, so I think it's the main tipped bits that are too long..

Many thnx Cher

Cher Dear ???? why waste yarn ??? i too find the using of a smaller needle practical for first round than it goes well ,,, mirjam

Why transfer the sts? Just continue using the 2nd circular, it works a lot better.
