OT: Need prayers, really really really need prayers

Hey gang.

I know I've been truant for a few months, it's been crazy and I've been on "break". Seems kind of rude to just drop in after my absence, but we really need prayers, and need them big.

My youngest son was involved in a car accident a week ago. We have pretty much been "living" at Shands, here in Jax, since then. He has a traumatic brain injury, with some bleeding and a lot of swelling. The last week has been a blur. He has had two surgeries, one to put in a "Camino" monitor and drain, that was Monday, and the followig morning, Tuesday, he had to have a craniotomy to relieve pressure. He has been heavily sedated until the swelling stabilizes and goes down, and now has pneumonia. The doctors won't give us a prognosis, because they just don't know at this point what it would be. Our lives have become 4 hour blocks of hope with what passes for a sleep period at night. At each visit, if he's doing ok, which right now means no new crisis, we get 4 more hours of hope, until the next visit.

Although we live "in the area", we are still 40 miles from home. We have used a friend's house to "sleep" in starting Monday night, before that we didn't really leave the hospital (the accident was Saturday morning). Our friend had to "move back home", we're now in a hotel for the next week, because I just can't be 40 miles away right now.

Please, his name is Aaron McClung, and we need all the prayers we can get for him.

I don't know when I'll be able to get back to the net, it will depend on how he does.

Please, pray for him.

Oh, you poor thing, Deb. It has to be so frightening for you. Big hugs going your way. (((((((Deb)))))))) I was thinking of you yesterday, as it so happens. I am sending every good vibe I have for your son's recovery. You have great medical facilities in that part of the state!

Deb, My prayers for Aaron... and for you and your family in this time of trial.

I looked up on the web, and found that there is a Ronald McDonald house near that hospital. Here is the information 824 Children's Way Jacksonville, FL 32207- Phone: 904 807-4663 Fax: 904 807-4700

Although originally designed for families of children with serious illness, they may be able to help you with living arrangements.
