I'm not qualified to discriminate between guys with a screw loose naturally and guys who've drugged themselves into oblivion (or those who are drugged *because* they have a screw loose), and I'm not going to ask that question of someone who's already proven himself to be cookoo -- at that point, I generally just want to end the conversation and get away. One real cutie did tell me he was brain damaged from an accident, please don't think he's slurring his words because he's drunk.
However, yes, in my immediate environs, due to the good availability of public transit, we *do* have a higher than average percentage of people who don't drive for medical reasons or who don't have a car because they're on disability and can't afford one. And some of them are darned good-looking.
My point was that, for whatever reason, there are people on welfare or disability who LOOK normal, but if you talk to them, it becomes painfully obvious that there is a legitimate reason they are not working. So don't dismiss those allegedly healthy young men as welfare cheats based entirely on seeing them on TV, because inside that healthy body could be severe memory and cognitive dysfunction that prevents them from keeping a job. Many crack babies and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome babies (conditions which occur disproportionately among poor mothers) are essentially unemployable when they grow up.
