OT: Sig Line

Now I know I`m going to get flamed for this - but it`s just as much avertising as MLI used to do - the only thing is that Mary Monica always seems to be a much nicer person! Advertising, all the same.

Pat, I understand your concern, and I was a bit uncomfortable asking this, because I did have to speak about the book. But RCTN has come up with some marvelous sig lines before -- most notably "Remember: Measure Twice, Cut Once," which I use for Cutwork -- and I truly am stuck here for something brief, witty, and appropriate. I have a lot of signings coming up in June, and I'd like something ready to use.

Actually, I think I did cross the line when I announced the audio version of the books, though they are not out yet, either. That was just an announcement; this is a cri di cour, if I'm spelling it right.

Hi Monica - looking forward to your next book, (it's cri de coeur) :) - a heartfelt cry or entreaty

Oy, it's actually cri du coeur, because it's the cry of one heart, not of all of them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong - and it's in the FAQ's - for a designer (or author, in this case, who appeals to the group) to announce a new design (book), or question us about colors (or titles), or anything else. What is prohibited is blatant, constant advertising, especially from those who do not contribute to the group as a whole.

In the end, there's really nothing we can do about it except make a mental note not to do business with those who only post advertisements and little else to the group.

Mary Monika has been an interesting and fun addition to this group.
