I guess I just don't get it.

I thought that HUG quilts were made to express our love and appreciation for other people. To support and comfort them when life just gets too hard.

For some of the people on our list, life is just too hard right now. Where is the love we should be expressing to one another?

Words have been tossed around in an accusing manner. Statements and questions that should have been asked privately have been asked publicly and everyone has jumped in on the debate, often adding fuel to the fire. Is this what we want? Is this who we want to be?

I'm suggesting that we declare a two week moritorium on this topic. The people involved need to communicate with each other, perhaps by telephone so each can resolve this issue to her own satisfaction. It is too easy to dismiss people who only exist in the cyberworld. We/I often forget that there is a real human attached to the posts and a real human may experience pain that I have caused inadvertently.

Let's all take a step back from this fire and cool off. And remember, every post is submitted in trust that the group will accept and understand.

LOL, I'm 61, too! Some mornings I look in the mirror and wonder how that monkey-faced, toothless old Irish lady got into my bathroom!!!

Just for a little while, I have put a couple of RCTQ names into my killfile. In a month or so, when all the tantrums and foolishness have died down, I will reinstate them as readable posters. Life is too sweet and too short and too precious to waste on childishness and petty feuds.

Oh, so true.

I have resorted to the "kill file" as well to end all this - at least for me!

Have a wonderful day Morag and Carolyn

Listpig!!! There you are. I was thinking about you all day today. Have you been among the missing or have I just not been attentive enough? It's so nice to see you.

You're right. The alternative DOES suck.

Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. I've finally got my husband stymied about my gift. I didn't give any clues about what I wanted. However, when my new quilting frame arrives (bought it at the Nashville Expo) he can "give" me that. He doesn't know I bought it. teehee

My DH asked what I wanted and said 'Gold I s'pose" I replied "yes, that sounds okay"

I relaed this conversation in front of DS and DH said to DS 'thats okay we can go to the Hardware shop and buy some gold paint"
