This test demonstrates the Stroop effect. It can be taken as evidence that reading is an automatic process. Thus, it is very difficult to name the color of the ink in favor of reading the word. It's a very popular phenomenon among experimental psychologists.
See? Psychology can be fun!

Not to worry, Bruce. It doesn't really "prove" anything and it's not really a test in the usual sense of the word. It's an experimental device used to demonstrate the concept that reading is an automatic process. You can't really "fail" it.

What I found strange was that although I fitted whichever one it was (could read the colours as opposed to the word) I also personally fitted the less type A personality. So I concluded I am still mad as a hatter lol
