OT: Wedding report (for Jim).

I didn't actually watch the wedding (like Pat , not a royalist and definitely not a Chas and Milla supporter ) however today's papers are full of it so here's some bits I've picked out . The queen began her speech by saying that Hedgehunter had won the Grand National (an important annual steeplechase held on the same day but the time was changed so that it wouldn't clash with the wedding - yes I had a 'flutter' but my horse was a donkey and refused one of the fences) then she joked that Camilla's wedding had meant she'd reached 'the final enclosure' (a racing joke). Camilla's ex-husband and new wife where present at the Windsor 'do'as was Joan Rivers . There where apparently three pleas posted against the marriage ( the bit where the priest says is there any just cause) but what they where hasn't been published and they where apparently not accepted as the marriage went ahead. Jan - ah well , general election next !!!!

I believe quite frequently there are 'objections' but the minister (who has usually been advised in advance what they will be) just carries right on past it.

I can't see the problem - I think the Queen's remarks were funny and apt and do not say to me that she disapproves etc. This is a second time around wedding and they usually are much more fun than the first lol

Camilla's biographer even said the Queen and Camilla do not get along - and the Queen plans on keeping her distance because she felt Camilla and this whole affair put a mar on the monarchy.

When a reporter asked Charles after the nuptials if he was happy, he looked at the reporter as if he was going to pull a Clinton .... 'depends on your definition of happiness'. Gag

Then there are SOME virtues in watching - you missed the obvious attitude of the Queen on the steps of St George`s Chapel.

And, of course, "FUN" is the MOST important thing about a wedding! Still, they obviously didn`t take the first ones seriously. LOL!

Careful, Sheena, you`re going to have to admit that you actually (Horror!) watch television! If you`re not careful I`ll tell you what has just happened in Corrie! ;-P

I don't get what you mean. I have already told you that I watched them arrive at the Guildhall and that was it.

Remember, I had to ask about the Russian litany for a friend who thought I would know the answer.

The funny thing is, I didn't watch and you, who openly dislikes everything about them, clearly watched every last minute. I didn't, couldn't, actually, as I was out playing bridge while it was on.

I meant that had you watched you would have seen the bit I referred to.

I don`t like a lot of people in the news. Doesn`t stop me watching them either to see what they`re up to to just to take the piss!

Bit like on here, actually! LOL!

;-)) ;-)) ;-))
