Thread source

Jul 21, 2005 6 Replies

I'm looking for a place where I can order just a skein or two of some Rainbow Gallery Rainbow Linen thread, or maybe the new Mandarin Bamboo Floss. I was surprised to find out that Nordic Needle doesn't stock it, which means I'd have to order 6 cards of it to get any.

Right now, I don't know what color or what thread I want to use for the Naversom design I'm trying to develop. I don't want to have six cards lying around, reminding me of a color choice that didn't work out.

Will someone recommend an on-line source for threads?

Thanks for your help.

I find Threadneedle Street to have a very complete line of threads and the service I've had has always been good.

RAinbow Gallery's site unfortunately does not have a shop locator, but it does say that "Most shops in Needlecraft Showcase's Shopping Mall carry our line." Unfortunately, searching on Needlecraft Showcase's site

doesn't seem to bring back products.

So I googled, and got hits for Rainbow Gallery's site, eBay, and several that appear to be ANG chapter sites' newsletters.

eBay listings #8205490835 and 8205506737 (both are from the same eBay Store, I notice now) are for a single card of your choice of color for $2.00 plus shipping

One of my LNS's, Tomorrow's Treasures, might carry the Rainbow Linen, they have a wide selection of fibers and several different lines of Rainbow Gallery. Unfortunately, they have neither a website or an email address listed on their cards. I can swing by there on Saturday if you'd like.

Mandarin Bamboo Floss Jean doesn't have that one listed, but you could email her and find out when it'll be available: snipped-for-privacy@msn.com

No affiliation, yatta yatta yatta...just very happy with their service.

To follow up my first post, Fireside also has the Rainbow Gallery Rainbow Linen threads as well.
