***Very OT*** CHRISTMAS ***OT***

I assume we're talking common foods, and not snails, crickets or Korean stir-fried kitty?

Since I'm allergic to onions and soy, we'll have to put those in the CARE package. Eggplant, asparagus, organ meats, peppers. There are things I prefer not to eat, but in a formal setting where it would be rude to pull it out, I will eat them (broccoli or lima beans).

It is not harmful to hurt people's feelings?

Best wishes, Ericka

Yes, you're nuts, but, more importantly, can I have your share of the strawberries?

But I would say Christmas in the Vatican is polluted by opulencism.

Well at last - someone else besides my lovely ex-son-in-law who hates strawberries. And to rub salt in his wounds his garden backs onto a strawberry farm!!!

It was great for my daughter when she was still with him - she could just open the gate and sneak a dishful!

I like that word. It paints a wonderful picture.

Do I have your permission to petition Merriam Webster to include it in their next edition of the dictionary?

Oh for heaven's sake, Ericka -- READ what was written and respond to it, not something YOU think the person posting *might* have meant. Pat said that if HER feelings were hurt it wouldn't do HER any actual harm! I swear, you would argue with anyone about anything just to argue. I bet you'd bitch if we hung you with a brand new rope! How about you go urinate in an upward fashion on the rope too? I'm gonna go back to the sewing machine and enjoy making the SMDGD's CHRISTMAS dress -- yes that's CHRISTMAS, the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child and political correctness can go take a flying fornication for all I care. Happy Chanukkah and a Joyful Kwanzaa and may the Goddess smile upon those who celebrate her !!! 8-P******

Guess I wouldn't have much to put in since I love food, all kinds. It is almost beyond imagining all the wonderful flavours in this world . So I will just have to send some of my favorites. Best curry I ever had was in Jamaica, curried goat it had layer upon layer of flavours . The best chocolate mouse was in Three Rivers . Nothing has ever even come close. Ah! gently braised very thin slices of calves liver.( just let it caress the pan for seconds a side) Steamed steak and kidney ( lambs) pudding. ( I make the best) Fish and chips from" Three Brothers" in Finchley, 20 minutes outside London England on the Northern Line. Sheenas' onion pie. My mothers Lobster stew. My husbands rabbit pie. Seal flipper pie pre Bridget Bardot. Sweet just off the stalk Brussels sprouts. Atlantic Salmon from Scotland. Fresh out of the water Mackerel fried up on the beach. Jelly fish with pickled vegetables. Oatmeal hot off the fire with a teaspoon of dark brown sugar on a cool crisp morning. Weeping scrambled egg. Mushroom/Potato soup. ( made from scratch) Mussels steamed with white wine, shallots, celery. Fresh from the water steamed clams dipped in melted butter. Salt and Pepper squid. Broiled asparagus brushed with crushed garlic and olive oil. Sweet northern shrimp linguine. Mediterranean lamb stew. Rack of lamb. Barbecued boned and stuffed leg of lamb. Lamb chops with pan glace. Garlic mashed Yukon Gold potatoes. Chicken soup. Barley risotto. Seafood nachos with baby octopi, squid, shrimp. I am getting hungry. Gotta go. ruby

DID you have to Ruby????? Huh ????

Actually I think it ill becomes us to joke about sending any food to Africa, I am sure when you are on the line to starving, you are not too picky about what food, if any you get.

Brussel sprouts have a bad rep. mainly because they are disgusting when overcooked which they usually are. But cooked properly they are lovely. Must be fresh, ( if the leaves are yellowed or wilted or dried out discard)( As asparagus they should be stored over ice or refrigerated after being picked and not allowed to dry out ) trim of outside leaves, cut the end level with the leaves and score the stalk end with a sharp knife about cm. drop into boiling unsalted water( as you would for fresh pasta) cook until tender crisp,( about 3 minutes for the small ones ) drain and eat with a dollop of fresh unsalted butter. They are very healthy. ruby

I am not fond of strawberries but that pie you made once, with whole berries and pureed berry sauce, did bring strawberries to a better level in my taste buds.

Darn you, Ruby!!

I am drooling all over the keyboard.

I haven't tried steak and kidney pie on Jim; however my kids love it, and so did the late DDH, and he was from Illinois, and not very experimental!! !!

Mediterraneon lamb stew is a big fanorite in my house. Actually it is more Moroccan, but still good. To be honest all lamb and mutton is good if cooked correctly!!

Heck; I love cooking, ad I love eating!!!!

Dripping hugs
