***Very OT*** CHRISTMAS ***OT***

...and if you're trying to get kids to eat them, toss the butter over them while in the drained pan and add a bit of brown sugar and let that glaze them (maybe a bit of ginger too). Quite yummy. You can also shred them and cook them with bacon. Can't say that makes them healthy, though ;-)

Best wishes, Ericka

I prefer the steamed pudding to the pie, must try to remember where I found the recipe. It is quite different to the pie. Basically one lines the side of the pudding basin with a dough much like a like a scone dough( no sugar of course) , layer the pieces of lambs kidney and steak having first coated them thinly with flour. I add mushroom pieces, easy on the chopped onion, pepper, and thyme. Cover with a lid of dough and seal like a pie. Steam as you would any steamed pudding. you may want to play with the flavoring to suit yourself. I think that is what I may have done. Ruby

Try to make a sauce of butter, lemon juice and mustard to toss over them. DH loves them that way---Clarice in AZ

For a person intending to make something to celebrate a religuous holiday, you sure use a `strange` collection of words .... mirjam

Send that nasty, horrid, evil Miracle Whip (the miracle is WHY anyone would want to eat the swill)!!! MAYO RULES!!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

LOL! I was just wondering if Ericka was actually a clone of Mirjam - the one who speaks better English but always just missing the point.

Mind you, I bet anyone would bitch a bit if being hung, whether with a new rope or old - never mind a wet one!

Ah, it's easy to dismiss others' arguments if you can do away with them by just claiming they don't understand what you're saying. I get what you're saying. I just don't agree with it. Sorry that my attempts to present my side of the debate are so worthless in your eyes as to deserve your derision and Tia Mary's vitriol during this much vaunted season of joy and peace.

Best wishes...or should I say Merry Christmas? Ericka

I'll take your good wishes Ericka and smash the jars of both mayonnaise and miracle whip.

If you think Pat's words were derisive or mine were vitriolic, you haven't read what the two of us are capable of posting! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Just exactly what does the " 'strange' collection of words" have to do with making a Christmas dress (I assume that is what is meant by the phrase "intending to make something to celebrate a religious holiday") for the SMDGD? And the dress is already finished -- time to start on the Elmo polar fleece coat!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

"I deny your reality and substitute my own" Mythbuster Extroidnaire, Adam Savage. Ericka has been listening to you for so long, she's beginning to sound just like you! What firm research data do you have to back up your above statement? CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I attended a church that did that and found it very comforting. No one can prove it either way; indeed, I think that if we're talking about an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient being, gender is irrelevant, but the default to the male pronoun makes me feel uncomfortable and excluded, so I like the use of "god" rather than "he" or "him" and don't see it as that much of an imposition on people to ask them to make that change.

Fine. Then let's sing lots of different songs, not just Christian ones.

Mine has little LEGO figures behind each door and I'm enjoying it immensely.

That sounds very cool indeed. Mine is a gorgeous gold one, with pictures behind each door of angels from paintings in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. My son and daughter-in-law bought it for me when they visited one spring. Dawne
