Whatever Happened To .......

Thank you, Carolyn, for expressing your thoughts this way. I've had the Angel for three weeks, but was only yesterday able to sit and work on her for a few hours. Her halo had not been finished, so I put in the last few rows around on that. Other than her hands, some of the metalics, and the beads, she is all done and she is stunning. I'm so pleased and proud to be one of the stitchers working on this piece and I'm not at all concerned with how long she has taken. It's clear that each and every person put time and love and care into their work on her.

Darn she's beautiful! I don't care much for that type of design personally, but just seeing her and seeing her progress makes me half consider stitching her myself! Like I have time for that!

No Vic -- you were NOT clear in saying you wanted the project done in a year! You said something to the effect that it would be really nice if we could have the project finished in that amount of time and you would be really pleased if that happened but that was about it! Personally, I was thinking two years after start of the project was more realistic and I'd be willing to bet that I posted something to that effect. You were very specific in saying that you did not want to rush anyone and that everyone should take as much time as needed (within reason) and if it happened that a person couldn't take his/her turn OR started and couldn't work on the piece for any length of time, that was OK too. Remember, we have no control over what other's do and hoping that we can control their actions is foolish. The Angel will be finished when she's finished and that will be at such a time as "the powers that be" determine it shall be finished!!! Besides, it's not really "our" project -- it belongs to RCTN in spirit and will soon belong to the NYPD in reality! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

By the way, count me in for a small donation for the framing. I'm willing to help, as I'm sure are others. We would just need to know where to send the funds. It may be premature, and perhaps we should discuss this once the final stitching is done.
