Working with Estaz from Glissen Gloss

I'm supposed to be couching it down but I'm having fits. I can't get it to lay the way I think it should go.

Oh, no! Does it need some Thread Heaven or dampening? Can you do anything with some basting stitches to hold it in place beyond where you're doing the couching - to make it easier? Or can you pin it (away a bit) temporarily while you couch? Then, of course, if you're going to wash the piece, you could try using some temporary adhesive that will wash away in a couple of spots. Or some little scrapbooker type glue dots that you can take up after, or removable tape (HOORAY Pink hairsetting tape) to hold it down as you stitch it in place - assuming you have room.

Good luck, regardless.

Too cute! I think that if you're really having trouble, and have the material, I'd cut a longer piece and tack down the ends - which will eventually be removed. Or, do the traditional Japanese method and plunge them to the back, then secure them away from your stitching area, and that should hold it so that you can do the couching. You could possibly whip stitch with some regular thread to help, and then pull that out from under the couching, or as you go. I know - clear as mud.

Have some fun, regardless

What I am now thinking of trying it a loose couch, followed by a proper job of it.

Now where is my big eye needle to do the beading?????

LOL - I have 2 of those special huge eye, flexible beading needles - in my little zip case of stitchin' tools. After having lost mine when needing them, I just have them with me like a security blanket.

I found it about 20 minutes ago. Still attached the project that I have to frog the beads from. I want to outline this item with beads before I put on a box top. I have 10's, may actually need 13's or 15's. Or I might string the 10's and couch the beads..... I'm having a tough time finding 13's or

15's in a good color for the project. C

If you send me a pic of what color you want, or describe, I can stop in at Star's Beads in Vienna - they have tons of stuff. LMK.

How about I send you the piece? Something might sing in a color I might not have thought of....

That's fine. I'm in Vienna pretty regularly, so I can stop in.

Well, given the way yesterday turned to crap and today won't be much better (vent coming soon - well, maybe tomorrow AM), I won't make the PO with your box, so I'll pop it in.
