My DDIL is stitching a stamped x-stitch bib and wants to put some kind of material or lining on the back of the stitching to protect it during washings. Any ideas? aeromom

I always use a soft cotton flannel. Lucille
Excellent idea. Thanks.
Of course she will want to wash the fabric a couple of times before sewing them together to make certain it won't shrink, stretch, or fade and to remove any stray odors or chemicals.
I haven't backed the bibs I've done but I do apply a dot of Fray Check to every place where I've woven in the cut ends of my threads. AFAIK they have all held up well.

I have used the fusible interfacing to cover the embroidery on the back of bibs. It appears to last well, at least I have heard no complaints.
