Containers for fruit/veg etc

Dec 21, 2006 4 Replies

Hey ho, folks!

Merry Christmas!

I have been making lidded pots for garlic and onion for a while now. I put holes top and bottom and shape them like garlic or onion. Silly, but fun.

What I am wondering is what other kinds of fruit/veg can keep better in lidded pots.

Glad for any input, and especially photos or videos of what you are suggesting.

How about ginger root, mushrooms, and potatoes? Sandi

Also smaller fruit - tangerines, lychees, nuts etc, could look good in a purpose designed container without the lid? Not sure about the keeping properties though. Susie

well i guess most all fruits & veggies? imagine a BIG bowl & BIG lid with holes like a colandar? the concept i think is to let air flow thru & not trap moisture.

~ some products just need a sales pitch to sell so make what looks like fun & make up a story to go with it.

see ya

We keep Potatoes in a old Bread Crock I made a few years back, we also keep some root vegetables in the same pot including Onions, but they don't stay there for long 'cos we eat 'em!

Steve Season's Greetings to you all
