Can anybody tell me if there is a chemical difference between dark and light rutile? Also does anybody have experience in using either in their glazes?

Hi Uncle, Dont know about the chemical differences, but in stoneware reduction you get an "electric blue" chun effect. email me if you want the recipe and I'll look it up for you. I made some sets ups a few years ago and did some tri-axial blends and the results were stunning.

and look inthe D's for dark rutile and the L's for light. The primary differenceis in the iron content 1.5% vs 0.5%.deg
What color(s) can you expect from rutile?
