2080 pieces of fabric in one quilt?

It took a long time. I thought I was back to work in April, and I did start the new quilt, and I did plan to finish it, but as I started quilting again, I began to feel that the world was passing by, so I really wanted to take a deep breath and rethink my priorities. Sometimes, it really is time to stop and smell the flowers and play with the grandkids and putter around with something else beside scraps of fabric. But recently I felt that quilting was passing me by, and I was confused again, so I got back to work and finished the never-ending quilt. It's been a while, and to those of you who asked where I have been, here is an answer. Popser tries to explain why it took me so long to finish this quilt.

I'm back! (Maybe)

Joan,

Scrappy quilts are one of my all-time favorites, and yours is simply beautiful! Good work, no matter how long it took. :-)
