A Bummer Holiday Weekend (Not OT)

A nice weekend in SO CA. DS is with his father. I have been working on a quilt doing the Hummel Embroideries on my machine. On Wednesday night I was working on block 14 when BAM, machine decides it wants to get sick. Tons of rats nest on the bottom of the embroidery. I cry. I change needle, clean everything. Try again, nope, machine is sick. Off to the doctors on Thursday just before I have a people Dr. Appt for a severely sprained foot. They tell me that if I am lucky I can have machine back on Saturday. Call Saturday morning. Told no way I will have the machine until Tuesday. I want to work on the quilt. I want to quilt. I have the time to quilt. Why oh why does my machine do this to me????

OK, rant over

It's your machine's way of getting attention. Your machine is at the "spa" just now getting some well needed rest and attention. You can take this time to tidy your sewing room, make a nice cup of tea, leaf though your magazines to remind yourself of projects you want to do (or find a new one), direct yourself to your other hobbies (gardening? preserving? knitting? etc...) When you're reunited, you'll both be well rested and ready to go. It *is* frustrating... try to divert your attention somehow. Let me know if you want a crash course in Russian, for example. :)

Sounds like a chocolate situation if ever there was one!

Your machine is getting pushy and self centered because he is an only child. You need a new machine, a better machine even, to put that fussy one in its place. A little competition will make the naughty machine behave.

:~D then my Janome must be suffering from middle child syndrome cause it is acting up too! having to use the lovely aged Bernina to do my sewing these days... Don't even want to think how sad the old Whites are right now. Or the Sears green machine or the beautiful Singer that needs repairs... those haven't been touched in years....

back up to the studio i go
