about the reliability of Berninas; mine anyway

Well, the shop to which I take the machine for maintenance [not the one I bought it from] called.

He said if it were me, I'd trade it; it just relapsed again!

So I'm getting a new model; not quite sure which yet. The shop gave me a *very* nice price for the old one too.

Thanks for all your help!

Good to know you're getting a great trade in value for a new one! Debra in VA See my quilts at:

I wonder what they'll do with the old one, given it was a trade in, not an exchange due to admission the machine was faulty, will they just service it and try and sell it, quite possibly and some other poor lady will also end up fighting with it.

Martha, my new Bernina 440 QE aurora has been here about 2 weeks. She is a whole lot smarter and much more powerful than the 155. We quickly (but not easily) have become good friends. It is hard for me to learn the wheres and hows of a new SM. I am impressed and very well pleased with this Bernina. (No dealer, no lessons, old old lady). Sadly, yesterday, we told my 1230 farewell. She's gone to someone who needed a reliable machine. It was like giving a beloved friend away. We send you very best wishes for a happy SM for you. We're here when you need to know where is this or how do I do that. Polly

They'll probably send it back to the factory for reconditioning, taking out the faulty part and replacing it. This is usually too large and time-consuming a job for the local fellas with smaller workshops.
