Am I done yet?

I actually thought of that!! But I couldn't visualize it. I hung it up and tried the suggested white, then red border - that was good. The dark blue, then red border was even better. I may stitch up a couple of feet of sawtooth and see what happens. I also thought of strippy triangles sawtoothed with red triangles - again, I just can't 'see' it in my head. So many liked it as is and I have in mind something I want to try (candlewicked quilt), so it may have to stay this way "just because".

Thanks to all!! BJ

I'm so glad you're going to try on some borders. Your quilt tells me it's longing for a grand finale instead of an abrupt halt. And please do let me toss in a few words on candlewicking. If you're eager to do one, before you get going on the full production, test some samples. I did my candlewicking on a weave that was entirely too tight. It wasn't the worst mistake of my life but it sure was hard on my fingers and yarn. Polly

Unfortunately I tend to charge full steam ahead and then have to back up and start over. I bought some muslin, washed and ironed it, cut the blocks and then read that it shouldn't be washed until after it is finished. Soooo, I need to go get some more muslin. I bought a rather high-quality last time. Would it be better to get a cheaper one that has a looser weave?

Meanwhile, I can be trying some border ideas.....no cloth store nearby so I have to wait until I go to town. Yep, I'm a country girl - no gaters - lots of cute critters like deer, bunnies, squirrels, possems AND the ticks that go with them. Oh,and snakes if I don't run the tracter around the house every few days to scare them off. BJ

Another word about candle wicking. Making a quilt with that technique is time consuming. I suggest you try the technique on a small square, to judge if you even like it enough to keep candle wicking. I tried it back in the 70's or

80's and found it booooooorrr> I actually thought of that!! But I couldn't visualize it. I hung it up and

BJ your quilt is beautiful. I like the idea of a border, but I can't suggest exactly what. Whatever you choose this quilt is great. Linda in Tx

I agree with the "leave it" folks. Anything added would be superfulous.
