Lone Star is DONE!!!!

Well my queen size lone star is done and it looks good! The whole quilt is stippled with the exception of the striped border and the star itself. I designed the feathers to fit the quilt and this was my first attempt at both making my own feathers and stippling.

The quilt is shown in the pictures on a King size bed, but it was made for a queen size.

Wow! You're right -- it does look good. :) Great job on both the piecing and the quilting!

Really pretty! I love the way the feather kind of wanders through the stippling.

Absolutely beautiful, Tammy. Wonderful. My quilting rarely enhances my quilts, so I am full of admiration. . In message , JPgirl writes

I forgot to add that it was all machine quilted and pieced. The top took me about 4 days to throw together, about 2 1/2 weeks to quilt ( and there was a couple days out of that I couldn't sew because my back was messed up) and another 2-3 days for cutting, designing, transfer, etc, etc,

All in all it was start to finish in about 4 weeks.

And THANK YOU for all the wonderful comments!!!!!! I really do appreciate them.

Thank you. Yes, for a queen size it is a little big. I think it ended up measuring

98 x 110". If there is one thing I can't stand is a quilt that isn't REALLY big enough for the bed it was made for. My idea of a king size quilt is at least 115" wide, I try to aim for closer to 120". It is a pain in the butt to quilt but it is worth it in the end when you put it on the bed and it actually covers the whole side of the bed without the box spring peeking through. Although that final measurement is also determined by how high the bed is too ;)

Oh, My! That is stunning. You ARE going to enter that in some kind of competition, right? Right? Those feathers are perfect.
