ummm no, I think it is one of the best quilts I have done so far but it is not perfect. It was actually a wedding gift for my Boyfriends cousin and his wife. I am getting very good at piecing and quilting but my patience for putting the sandwich together leaves something to be desired. I know how to do it, I just get so excited that I rush and I end up with pleats here and there sometimes. So while it might look wonderful it is not good enough for a show, although I will be taking it for show and tell at my guild tomorrow night that is about as much 'showing' as it will get.

I am now free to work on my design for the somewhat local annual juried show, I entered last year with the Quilt full of posies in my gallery, I did get accepted ( which apparently is an honour in itself at this show) but I did not win anything so this year I am going ALL OUT and starting early. I have designed a 42 point mariners compass, it will be king sized, feathered and very heavily stippled. I'llpost pics as I get it together!

The quilt is shown in the pictures on a King size bed, but it was made for a queen size.

Very pretty, dramatic color choice, and the feathers are great! Roberta in D

Beautiful! I tried making a small one, maybe 36x36 and have about 1/2 of it hand quilted. It has been sitting in my stash for about 12 years! ~sigh~

Absolutely awesome quilt! You know, I have a purple wall in my bedroom...so if you ever get tired of it, feel free to send it to me. ;-)

Did you do the quilting by hand? Just beautiful. How long did it take you to complete?

Omigod, you did the quilting on the machine??? I'm lucky if I can quilt a straight line. LOL! If I ever get brave enough to try more advanced machine quilting, I know who to ask!

LOL Quilting by hand..... LOL now that is funny! I do all the quilting by machine, I do have some patience but not quite enough to quilt by hand. I barely got through that on the machine!

It took me about 4 weeks from start to finish.

The couple I gave it to for a wedding gift also have purple walls in their bedroom ;)

LOL, Funny, my boyfriend kept asking me if it was going to be hard to give it away after all that work and I said no. As long as I have pictures of it, I'll be fine. Mind you I have made about 13 quilts in the last year and 8 of them are no longer mine. I've gotten used to it.
