you asked for it, so here it is
nzlstar* this is the one with the border I was fighting, as you can see it's entirely quarter square triangles, I faught with it enough to get it on how it is, with the points pretty well matched, but it was obvious a 2nd wouldn't go on without major loss of flatness in the quilt top, so I stopped whilst the going was good. However when it game to squareing up, there was no way I was going to be able to get all the points 1/4 inch in from the edge, so I deliberately did a wider binding so all the points got chopped off, the way the two fabrics blend, I don't think you really notice and when you do, the final result still looks good imho.
It's my first time working with batiks and I am pleased! I'm particularly pleased with the outer pink triangles, which were another reason not to put on another border, I don't think it would have worked to switch back to the other pink, it would have made this one get lost. The fabric was variagated over it's width, so I cut the triangles from a strip, stacked carefully, then laid out disgarding some where the colour changed slowly and carefully matching the corners.
