Signature block quilts

Well, the first one is completely finished, including the label on the back!! I was going to layer the second one, but my back started acting up again, so that didn't happen. My friend who wants to learn basic machine sewing will be coming over tomorrow after she does her walking and after I get my allergy shots, and I will start her out on assembling the blocks for the third quilt top. So that means today, after Bible Study and after I get DD down for a nap, I will be cutting the pieces I need for the third top.

All are a bit different - the first one is for the oldest son and has lightening bolts on a blue background. it's a 3-2-3-2 (rows of signature blocks) with the lightening bolt fabric between the sig blocks, and lightening bolts fabric for the borders. The second is for the middle child, and it is a 9-patch with the sig blocks in the center, and 2 shades of blue for the rest of the block. Sashing for that one is tonal blue with waves. The third one is for the youngest child and will most likely be log cabin blocks with the "logs" being made out of the same blues that were used in the second one (the youngest 2 boys share a bedroom). Sashing will also be the wave fabric. Finally, the one for the parents will be the one that takes the most time. Each large block witll be made up of 4 sig. blocks....the sig blocks will be divided by narrow sashing of one of the colors that Leslie told me they have in their bedroom (hunter green). Once that is done, the larger blocks will be turned into log cabin blocks with the logs of gold and purple (also colors that are in their bedroom). I'm hoping to make the 4th quilt queen sized, but am not holding my breathe because I have limited space and time to get these finished.

However...progress is being made!!! And once I get the tops done for the last 2, I have to finish the one that I started for the carnival/ fundraiser for DSs PTA...well, at least I'mback into quilting for now, but I will be flipping back to clothing in the near future, so I'm trying to pace myself.
