BETSY ROSS - ORIGINAL TYLER HUG REQUEST

----- Original Message ----- From: Bob & Karen Tucker To: Karen Tucker Sent: Thursday, August 18, 2005 2:58 PM Subject: Hug request from Betsy Ross

Connie D's son is a Marine who was shot and is recovering in the hospital. I am hosting a Hug for him. Red, white, and blue blocks, any design,

12-inch would be nice but not mandatory. I make quilts for soldiers on an ongoing basis. I will be sending it out for longarming, unless someone else wants to quilt it. Let me know. Let's have a deadline of Sept. 10. My address is Susan Freeman, 1426 5th St., Alameda, CA, 94501. Thanks!

True, absolutely true. It was on the newsgroup that she said the extra blocks would be used for Quilts for Valor. I explained to her when this came up about your blocks that it wasn't noticed by the huggers, because it's not what they usually expect. Now she is going to put all the blocks into the top, and we have a quilter to quilt it for her. The Quilts for Valor quilter that she was going to use is who limits the size. But now it is not a Quilt for Valor, it is an RCTQ hug quilt, free and clear. See? I told you we would survive. We always survive. We are quilters.

Please include my block - I want Connie to know I was sending all my prayers and thoughts to Tyler. I was absolutely crushed when I learned that I wasn't being included. Do you need money for batting or backing or shipping cost. Just let me know and I will gladly forward it on to you.

Betsy Ross has already sent your block back to you, according to an earlier post in the group here. Maybe it hasn't left the mailbox yet, and she can get it into the quilt. If you get it back, just mail it to her for the now-larger Tyler hug quilt. I have put the quilting volunteer, and Betsy Ross, in touch with each other for the mailing of the top, etc.

Well that's another way to see it's not included. I will put "return to sender' on the envelope so it will be returned as soon as possible.

C'mon girlfriend, get a little grip on it here. She mailed it immediately as per your request, not intentionally after the fact of a volunteer. Take my word on it. I was there when it happened. This CAN all turn out okay.

I know that is a fact - now that it is in your most capable hands. Just let me know if you need anything to help get it done.

I vote for promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.

Wendy: Please try to keep your posts on topic!! This is not on topic. Now, if we discuss the horse of a different color, or if we discuss the galloping horse theory of mistakes, then we can call this on topic. So, you frood quilter, what color is your horse?? I prefer citron green lately ... sometimes with a dash of purple!
