Classic Color Combinations

Joan, this is one of my main concerns? problems? I keep buying the same fabric over and over and over again.

I've been thinking more about this thread, and my favourite colours are royal blue and bright cherry red.... I do wear them a lot, and I frequently use them in quilts. However, I also like the spring, "garden" combinations of green, yellow, lavender, pink, white, etc and I never wear pastels. Also, white is sort of a "no-go" colour for me, since I am so messy and stain white clothes almost immediately. I used to hate butter yellow, but can now use it in quilts... but would never wear it. I think it's easy to go with your default, favourite colours, but it is possible to move beyond them and enjoy other combinations too. (Even those that do not suit your skin tone, etc).

i reckon any green would work but you need some bright ones in there otherwise it'd probly just fade away deep into the forest. of course you know i'm partial to a bit of LIME but no need to go overboard for anyone who has issues with LIME. i understand (sort of) how its not everyones cuppa tea. happy to help ya out with that list. j.

Dryer sheets. LOL!

Seriously, if you pet the item in question with unused dryer sheets it picks the hair right up. I first learned that when I was trying to remove pet hair from leather. The smoother the item, the faster the process goes. Leather or vinyl is a lot quicker to clean than velvet or plush, but that is the way of it no matter what you do.

If I hadn't mis-typed the width >g< it would have appeared even better!! They are about 4" wide, not 2" (don't know where that came from?) . In message , Michelle C. writes

Ikea, Dunelm Mills... Loads of places. Just don't stand them in the sun or the sticky fails. With 2 cats in the house, we go through loads of them. You might also want to look out for this type:

Hunter green and cream is a classic. Hunter green, red and cream is another one. I love the 1930's colorways.

I am not familiar with Fig Tree though. I thought Kansas Troubles was a pattern company; are they into fabric now too?

I love yellow in quilts, but NEVER wear yellow. I don't even own anything yellow, except for the beautiful yellow fabrics I have in my stash. I like quilts with brown in them and I NEVER wear brown either.

When I was growing up (many, many years ago!) it was absolutely verboten to wear blue and green together. Never could figure that one out. However, when I was in high school, I had a blue taffeta dress that had a tiny pleated green edging on the underskirt. I loved that dress! Guess by then, the designers were starting to think that blue and green could go together.

Blue and orange, I love! That's our Boise State colors. I had never ever worn anything orange in my life until I bought an orange Boise State sweatshirt last winter.
