Fab-u-mover?

Has anyone seen this? I saw it at the Viking store in Jo-ann last weekend, and it looks fabulous. They only sell it with the Cruise Control, but I have found it online by itself. It's spendy ($450) but it seems like with a long-harp machine it would be wonderful.

I tried out the Fab-U-Mover when it first came out. Hated it. The area you have to work with is just the size of the opening in the gadget. Then you have to reposition the fabric to allow a new area to be quilted. And the size of the opening is not large, about big enough to really get a rhythm going then you have to move the fabric and start over. sigh. Of course, it may just be the way I like to quilt, but it really seemed to be more trouble than help to me. And I can buy a lot of other things with that amount of money.....

I just got one. Still working on the learning curve. I do not have the cruise control on mine. The sales lady said that I pretty much had the timing between the machine and the fab u motion down that the cruise control at another 3-4 hundred dollars was a total waste for me. So far I like it because it takes the pressure off the neck that you feel while doing FM quilting and since I have been in 3 major car accidents since I was 16, I have a lot of problems with my neck becoming extremely sore.

Save your money. I've tried them several times. You have only a small space to work, then it must be moved, and the drag on the quilt is terrible. If you think you must have one, think about joining the Yahoo group 'sewitsforsale". There's usually several of them on there. IMHO not worth the money. Gen
