featherweight - found one

So this last weekend, DH and I were in a town on the Mosel river in Germany and between swilling wine and eating German food at a fest, I wandered into an antique store. There on the floor sitting on its case was a featherweight it was made in Canada, with its manual clearly in several languages and all of the assorted feet you might need to go with it. Cost 180 euros. ($270 US) Did I buy it? Well, no I did not. DH told me to go in and talk him down, it was covered with dust so it had been there a while So I could have gotten it for cheaper. I thought I would think about it. the chance of someone buying it this week is rather remote...we go back to that area again this weekend...I'm thinking...

See, if it were me, it would be gone when I went back and I would then be convinced that it was the best Featherweight ever, and I would never find another one which was a better deal.

No, Jean, I took the plunge and got a brand new machine last week. My machine budget is GONE.

Thanks Roberta,

I won't get to it this weekend. It is a rainy weekend and not worth the drive to Germany for a fest in the rain. So instead I am staying put in France and DH and I are going to go out for dinner tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer, but the store will be closed so I won't be able to make the drive back to it.

Jean > AFAIK it's US made. (DD1 bought it on Ebay as a gift for me, and IIRC
