Started in June 2006, finished about an hour ago -- almost two years later. Carol Doak's June 2006 Celebration Block.

It's in my Webshots Finished Quilts Album.

Time for a nap.

Lovely, lovely quilt, Kay. Enjoyed sneaking a peek at your other quilts too. Key lime and Lemon Meringue is so cheery. Love the color combination.

Best regards, Michelle in NV

Great job, Kay! :)

Lovely, Kay. The way the deep pink appears in the blocks, disappears and reappears as the outer border is most eye-catching. Great trick! . In message , Kay Ahr writes

Thank you! The yellow and green was one of Jessamy's mystery quilts a year or so ago.

Thank you!! At the time I started it, I bit off a lot more than I could chew. I had to do a lot of fussy cutting to get the stripe in the center outline square and to get the turquoise-green pattern going down the middle of the piece. Then I discovered that the pale pink was really a stripe. What an amazing mess of fabric! All from my stash! Then the points. . . . .

Thank you!

That dark pink had to reappear -- there wasn't anything else for the border! Actually I think that idea comes from how I used to make clothes and things "had" to match.

Thank you!! It's all that practice with coloring books and the box of 64 when I was a kid!

Oh my, I didn't even notice that! Is it the pinks that do it? I need to find out how to do that on purpose. You're making me very glad that I took the time to finish it instead of just tucking the one block away somewhere. thank you!
