happy day!

I started my morning VERY EARLY today. Our local Masonic lodge is in dire need of a new roof; which will cost about $200,000. I kid you not. Someone built this building with a flat roof in a very rainy area. It was a poor choice and the roof leaks in many places. We've replaced as many ceiling tiles as we can, but at present there are still 3 that are growing with heavy mold.

So today we started a rummage sale, that goes on tomorrow as well. Lodge brothers had donated things, but they have been bringing them all day as well.

On my way up to the lodge, I stopped to get 3 dozen donuts for the workers. I worked all day, and also bought the makings for lunch. One of the donated items was something I ogled since it arrived - a sewing machine table! I probably spent close to $60 on food, and with all my work and invested money, they gave me the table at no charge.

The better news: Our goal for the sale was $800. We made that today and we expect to make at least $400 to $600 tomorrow. This is seed money for more fundraisers.

So no more kitchen table sewing for me! Enough of a reason for a happy dance as I'll ever be able to find!

At first I wondered whether your post was on topic -- Mason Lodge and donuts caught my eye! Love donuts and I was in Job's Daughters a long time ago.

Oh, then I realized you got a new sewing table while my brain was reminiscing about Bethel #4, First Messenger, the choir, and DeMolay. An old friend from DeMolay and high school is doing my mom's taxes this year.

Thanks for the memories and congrats on the table!
