RCS June Challenge - Sew Sweet!!!

May 31, 2005 36 Replies

Take out your sewing machines, sergers or sewing needles!

It's time... yes it is time for us all to take out our big or small sewing machines or our sewing needles and do a fabric and thread LO.

List of Materials You MUST use.

- Cardstock (either 12x12 or 8.5x11) 1 or 2 pages, that's up to you!

- Tread

- Fabric

- Ribbon

- Pictures

- At least one embellishment

Remember it's really easy to sew if you xyron/adhere your fabric to cardstock first. Make sure you use a wide stitch so that you don't weaken the cardstock too much!

Have Fun!!!

oooh this sounds like fun. I tried sewing paper last month and had a blast.

Lynne (throwing M-C an "h") hehe :)

ew I'm totally not a sewer but haven't tried any kind of sewing in a while so maybe I'll give it a shot this time.

LOLOLOL.....it is that dropped letter virus again Lynne :o)=20

I don't own a machine and my scrappin friend's is currently broken, if it's fixed in time I will have to try! Barb:o)

Hey Barb,

Check out the recipe swap one of the pages was hand stitched. Just an idea... wink.

Lynne

Thank you... I took your H and put it on the website, LOL!

Anyone can do the monthly challenges Yanya...there is no time limit to = qualify like for swaps, NSSSF or Secret Santa!!!!! I posted the other = day that you made your first post on the 13th April...I think it was!!!!

I'm not much of a sewer either, but I do have fun using fabric on my LO's occasionally. I have not tried using my machine but rather got out some embroidery thread and needle and used the thread and fabric as an embellishment sometimes together but usually not, 'cause glue (or xyron) will hold fabric to the page. I'd say go for it even though your not a sewer and have fun. I'm going to give it a try. If I don't like it I won't do it again, if I do well, then I've learned something.

This isn't a contest Yanya, but a challenge. THere is not posting requirement to do the challenge. Just give it a try, have fun and share your results. I think I did my first challenge the first week I was posting. My understanding is contests and swaps have posting requirements.

I think I'll take this challenge!! I have had a bad scrappers slump lately, maybe this will get me moving! Arleen

Challenges aren't lik swaps so anyone can do the challenge even lurkers can come out of hiding for one, have fun and share!

So enjoy! All you have to remember is to send me pictures of your challenge pages when you get them done so I can put them on the website!

I can't wait to see what you do!

M-C, Were you able to pull a couple of pics off my webshots for the May Challenge, or do I need to send you some? Sandy

Sorry Sandy, I didn't get yours. If I get a chance I try to save them when I go and look, but sometimes I get interupted, which is why it is always better to send them to me.

Thanks for checking!

M-C

Barb, I have a small hole punch that I bought just for sewing. Friend o mine told me about it. Punch the holes and then sew the thread thru the holes with a big needle. Works great!

a good friend is a life long treasure

Yeah you had me wondering how thick my page was going to get with tread on it! *G*

And to think I threw away that tire that shredded on me a month ago. hehe

Lynne

HAHA! I was thinking myself..."Tread?!!" what the heck is that? LOL (blonde moment, here) I might try this challenge too, now that my graduation cake hell is over! (Phew!) Linda C
