Hi Christina. Nice to "see" you! How are things now? I haven't been posting much lately as I have to go to Google to see if it (my post) showed up. Has it really been that long since we've heard from you? My time does go fast when you're having fun!

It is wonderful to hear from you and to know you are okay. I often wonder how you are doing. Are you still doing those wonderful, marathon quilting sessions? You always seemed to finish very shortly after you started and did beautiful work too.

I hope you and your family are all well.

WE do have old ones still on board, I wish I had the time right now to sit here tonight and just type away, and reply to each and everyone of you. So I will try to include this to everyone, and try to answer everyone questions. ( I thought last night that I would have at least a few days to talk) but things change over night

My son, will turn 17 tomorrow (16th) He is in the 11th Grade. My Daughter is getting ready to graduate Collage this Spring, and hopefully will be able to attend grad school (OU) in Tulsa with a full scholarship to become some type of Liberian ( yes, there is different types of Liberians!.. but I forgot which type she wants to be) Right now, she will grad. with Major in Counseling and a Minor in Sociology with a 3.6 GPA. She is now 21, and will turn 22 this spring. The last time I was here, I was working at the Post office.. that did not last very long, as it turns out.. she has been thought a lot of workers since me, ( I am glad I wasn't the only one who could not get along with her) The Job I have now, is new (7 months) at the City hall in my town. I am the City Clerk, there last one just quit. because of problems. The job fell in my lap one day. Pay sucks.500.00 a month ( long hours) sometimes I have worked 14 hours a day. But with the mess I walked into, it is no wonder.. Their last City Clerk worked from 2006-2008 and she did not do her job, the files where a mess, ( I am still working on them) and will be for some time to come. payroll, Claims, you name it its my job., I take care of the Fire Dept, Cemetery, Park, x-Police, and some of the Water Dept. ( on budget that is smaller then a pea) The office looks better, things can be found now.. But man I still have a long way to go. Right now, I am working on double checking payroll files W-2s 1099s Etc. along with 941 and OTC (all Business taxes) and nope, I had not a clue on any of this stuff.. I walked in, and they said here you go. a lot of learning I have done, and I still have a long way to go. Whew! So tonight. I will be going over all of the Check stubs for 2008 so I can at least get out the w-2s and let the CPA double check my work.. they said that the 941sa and the W-2s have to match up.

Yep as I said its a mess there.. but I love what I do, and look forward to work everyday. who helps me? who teaches me? Myself and other City Clerks or OML from Oklahoma.. I am the only employee for the City side.. other then the council members (5) the Water Dept has one employee also a Water Clerk she is also with me during the day, and does try to help out, but she doesn't know a lot, I don't' think I could have done this job without her.. she is my rock. The good thing is that my job starts anytime I want it too ( just about) so I go into work anywhere from 5 Am to 10 Am and work as long as needed. which works perfect since DH is back on nights. ( one car)

As for Quiting, I haven't' had time.. after we lost DH's Parents in 03 & 04, its been hard for me to pick it back up again, then my illness started in April of 06.

When we move into a larger home, I will quilt again, a wonderful quilt shop opened up in a Town close to us.. I went into it not long ago, I sure hope they can stick it out in this depressing

My heath.. will what can I say.. They still have no clue what is wrong with me, I still have problems, have never made it down to Houston, TX, seen three speicalist, all the Dr's all are still clueless, I get tired of hearing and having the same test run. what ever it is, its not goin to kill me.. LOL

Let me see what i can get done tonight and see if I have some time to play on the weekend.

Great to have you back. Need to know all about what has happened in your life. Still living in same small town? Daughter still in college? That "little boy" is probably almost grown-up. What is he doing? I will email you privately. Thought of you as I put up the Christmas ornaments you made for me.

I understand so well. I too had been on and off over the last several years and am back for now. Google is how I have to access the group also. I am not crazy about the digest form but you do what you must to stay in touch. Of course for me my health has been what pulled me away. Right now I am doing better than I have in years. Constant physical therapy and occupational therapy have helped a great deal. Also my doctors have the bleeding issues under control so I am not having all the TIA's and the stroke problems I had for many years. Of course I will never be 100% but I am plugging along. It is good to see you here Christina. So tell us what quilty things are you doing these days? I just finished making a GMFG. and have ad Log Cabin ready to quilt and just finished 2 other tops. One I was inpired to do, a Clam Shell {very scrappy}, by another quilter here and the last one that I finished just yesterday is a scrappy Depression Block quilt. This morning as I continue my quilting marathon I started making a sampler in purples. I have never done a quilt in purples so I thought today would be a good time to do one. I have 2 blocks made of the 30 I want to put into the quilt top. I have a lot of block Ideas to play with for this one. I also have a couple other quilt tops I want to make over the next few weeks. After that I am going to settle in and quilt them all up as I try to stay warm in this very cold weather in lower Michigan. Again glad you are back. julia
