Yeah, no family camping generally. Involved adults go (committee members sometimes, leaders always); I did a Yosemite backpacking trip with them a couple of years ago. So, you can still sneak in on some things. But generally the transition from cubs to boy scouts is also a transition from doing the advancement as a family to doing it as a patrol.

Congratulations to you too!
No sticker yet. We still have the paperwork part to do.

Thanks! I think for now the part of the table with drill holes will face the wall ;-)

when my son was in scouting up here in Vancouver, his leader was really interested in sailing, so they were a Sea Scout troupe. (blue shirts instead of the green). About every 2-3 weeks in the summer, the leader would borrow his friend's sail boat, and the whole bunch of them would sail off to one of the Gulf Islands for the weekend. I love the water, so I tried to volunteer to go as a helper on the campouts. My offer was turned down, needless to say.

What a wonderful accomplishment! And you even have a drill hole to always remember this by. Where will the nesting boxes be placed?

From one Eagle Mom to another,
"Way to go, Mom and Eagle!!"
Now get after him to finish the paperwork, have his Scout Master conference, and that all important Board of Review.
Be sure to have some tissue in your pocket at the ceremony...
