I Need Encouragement.

Apparently I can't piece fabric anymore. I am so frustrated. DH askedme to make a quilt for the upcoming Beekeeper's Association auction.Very short turn-around time, and I didn't have time to order "beefabric".so I chose (what I thought) was a very simple pattern. Chose brightsolid batiks with black sashing andbordering (sort of a stainedglass look). The plan was, to quilt thetheme (bees, hives, etc) in the centerof each 8 inch block.I haven't touched the sewing machine since I got sick in August. Ican't figure out what the problem is.Either I can't do a proper consistent 1/4 inch seam, or I'm stretchingthe fabric when I'm ironing it. It'sjust not coming together. And this pattern should be easy peasy.Quilting used to be fun, but I haveto admit (just to you all)...that I'm afraid there are tears on thisone. Some of the black lines don'tline up. Some trimming had to be done when I squared the blocks, andthat created more problemswith the consistency of the size of the little squares.I *will* finish this. And I'm counting on the quilting to be sostellar that it will completely outshine themistakes in the quilt. Tell me that *does* happen sometimes.Arrgghh. You know I'm just typing out frustration. Thank you for thevent.Going to hit it again tomorrow with a fresh mind and new sunlightcoming through the windows.This is the patternP.s. -- For future reference, (next year)....does anyone know of aquilt pattern with a bee theme? Maybeappliqued bees, hives and such?

No sunglasses used and the horses are not needed. I just love it. the batiks give it a special glow. Great Job!!

Thansk so much for the encouragement. You all are a wonderful cheerleading team. Never underestimate the power of the support of quilty friends!! Your comments did make a big difference. I'll post another pic after it's binded. Or do you say "bound"??
