I've been away.

Here's another reminder to sign up for the Baseball Swap before the March 31 deadline.

What is it? We swap 6.5" squares of fabric based on the results of baseball games. (yup, we're tight with Pete Rose.) You don't have to be a fan of baseball, don't have to watch a single game, and don't have to keep track of the results (unless you'd like to). Twice during the season you'll get an e-mail, complete with lovely labels, telling you exactly how many squares you owe to who, and how many you're receiving. Send those squares into our central swapper and wait anxiously for your return package!

How much fabric is at stake? That depends on how well your team does and how many backers your opposing teams have. 3-5 total yards is typical for the first half. It needs to be quilting cotton, and a quality you'd like to receive yourself, but no specific theme or color.

How do you sign up? Send your name, address, phone #, e-mail, and which team(s) you're backing (if more than one, they need to be in different leagues) to baseballswap AT excite DOT com, or directly to me. (Some people are getting bounces from excite.) It's a load of fun, so please join in!

Hi, You all know that I mostly lurk and only pipe-up occasionally. BUT, I've been unable to even lurk since January 1st. My ISP quit sponsoring news groups!

We got signed up with a new ISP in the middle of a buy-out (Adelphia to Comcast), but we're in good shape now, I hope. I'm only 7,000+ posts behind.

I suppose that I've missed the directory and the baseball sign-ups!

I finally have a new e-mail address that works and am wading through March's postings. I have to forget about January and February.

The "good" news is that I have completed three table runners and several charity quilts, become treasurer of my guild, and have been to two quilt exhibits.
