Arch was an importer of Chinese mass-produced quilts, and basically had a little office in Hawthorne and later Elmsford NY (or vice versa, this early in the AM I forget). From NY corporate records, they appear to have operated between around 1985-1995, which makes them along with American-Pacific (which is still in business) one of the first importers of these quilts. They were wholesalers whose primary market was large retail stores like Macy's.

More and more often these mass-produced quilts are being resold as homemade antiques - you can read a recent horror story on my website at

I've already got a spot-the-repro article, but am now compiling a collection of images of Arch quilts for my quilt history website.

If you or anybody would like to contribute images I'd be grateful. The ideal would be to have a full shot, and a closeup of the tag corner of the quilt folded back onto the quilt top, so that both the tag and the fabrics are clearly visible. Images can be sent to snipped-for-privacy@cox.net.

There is lots of good info on this site. I printed off the instructions for binding a quilt because they were very thorough with good photos. - good for sharing with a beginner.
