Hi to all
I have been lurking in this group for a couple of months now, and it seems so nice, I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Heidi and I live in Massachusetts. I have been sewing for many years, since high school, but only recently have been more serious about my desire to start quilting. I took a community school quilting class about 15 years ago, and then never did much with it, but recently I joined our local quilt guild, and am trying to do more quilting. I do already have many of the quilter's habits, as I have been gathering a stash for years, and love chocolate in any form, which seems to be a pre- requisite for joining this group.
I am a fan of patchwork, one of those people who is afraid of applique, though I admire all types of quilts. I have a White Quilt and Sew machine, which I thought would be a good choice for my budget, but makes me crazy. But DH gave it to me for my birthday a few years back, so it has sentimental value, and another machine is not in the cards right now.
I have 4 QIs, Tucker and Daisy, the Golden Retrievers, and Abby and Leo the kitties. Leo is first among equals among the QI's, as soon as I open the door to the sewing room, he is there to see what is going on and see if he can sneak onto the sewing table, which is not allowed. He tries to be helpful and is always good company, always a Mama's boy.
I will probably continue mostly to lurk, but I wanted to take a moment to say hi, and how much I enjoy looking at everyone's quilts, and get advice from reading the posts. When I have something to show, I will set up a viewing site.
