Gosh, couldn't they loan you one from a demo machine until yours comes in.

Jinxed? Jinxed, nothing. I'd be scalded. I would deliver that SM to them and squall until they either handed me my money back or gave me a foot control. I'd probably want them to pay me per diem and mileage. (Not that I would be angry or disappointed or nuthin.) Polly

"Donna in NE La." Gosh, couldn't they loan you one from a demo machine until yours comes in.

I BOUGHT the floor model!! Their stock is low because of the economy, I expect.

Polly - would you be my sister and come to IL and be scalded with me?

Dang, woman, you sure are hard on new machines.

Karen, hoping it proves to all be well worth it for ya.

I am just SO easy-going. So slow to anger - probably wouldn't blink if my new car didn't have a gas tank. OTOH, a sewing machine without a foot control? Them's fighting words. Every time. Without fail. When I bring one of my SMs home from being serviced, I open the case to be sure that the bobbin case, foot control, power cord, and foot are: (1) mine and (2) there. It's a nuisance but not nearly so awful as getting home with any of that missing. Polly

What kind of machine did you get?

Some of those Janomes have "start/stop" buttons. You can sew with them instead of the foot pedal. I, personally, don't have that kind of coordination, but lots of quilters over on the 6500/6600 list love using the button. If your new machine has one at least you could sew until you get the foot pedal.

So, how did they demo the machine for you without it?

both good questions, Marcella. No to the stop start button. been there done that looked for it

and I have no idea how they could lose the foot pedal for the floor model - when things like this happen, I'm always so sure that they think I'm the one who lost it. It shouldn't matter what they think, and I'm probably wrong...but....
