Thank you, O Kate! I appreciate that.

Good thought and positive waves from me for your daughter - and for her mother who obviously deserves them too.

BTDT - and it was not a problem. I am SURE it will be the same for her.

Thank you, Sherry. I am sure she is fine, but gosh with your kid, you just get so scared.

Cindy

Thanks, Betty. I appreciate that.

Yes, I'm positive that she is ok. Part of the hysteria, on her part, is that she really, really didn't like this doctor. She had never been to him before, her exams had always taken place at the university where she studied. He was brusque and not at all gentle. And made her feel stupid(?) for asking questions. I know the man personally, and he just does not enjoy his profession. He would rather be a coach. But he's an OB/GYN, so DD thought this is who she should go to.

So she is going to someone else for this test.

You made me laugh, Larisa! Yeah, after the conectomy, you would run the risk of bleeding. Glad you didn't have any ill effects. A girl after my own heart. Shopping. Ha.

Thanks, Cindy

Thanks, Denise. I'm sure tiny prayers will do it. I should have talked to you guys on Friday, I had my laptop at the hotel. You have made me feel so much better.

Cindy

Thanks, Jeanne. She's an only and while I know that if you have 12 kids, each is precious and you would feel this way about all of them, when you have 12 kids, you can't let yourself get hysterical until there was real reason to be hysterical or you would be hysterical all the time, right?

Cindy

I really do appreciate it Suzie. As many as you can send.

Cindy

Thanks, Chery; you guys are the greatest.

I had 'pre-cancerous cells' removed 19 years ago Cindy and have been fine ever since.

No family history of that kind either

Cindy, blame my mother! The day of the conectomy, I walked about a mile

- from grandma's house to the end of the road and back. NEighbor, who is a school nurse and knew what I was having done, was coming home and made a point of stopping the car just to yell at me!! Shopping was the next day, and it was with Mother to the local outlet center!! That's why it took 6 hours

Larisa, why cry when you can't avoid it, distract yourself with something fun :-)

Cindy, you and your daughter have my prayers, hugs and utmost sympathy/empathy. I know what you are going through. I went through it with my daughter two years ago. To say you feel like you had cold water dumped on you is putting it mildly. At least it was for me. I wish you both the best and pray for a clean bill of health for your DD.

Good for her. And she needs to find a doctor that she feels comfortable with. I didn't like my dr for a long time, so I quit going for a long time. I don't like the NP that I go to now as much as the one she replaced (LOVED her! but she got married and moved to California) but this one is growing on me. She is approximately the size of my upper thigh, so maybe that's where part of my prejudice lies...;-)

No, Cindy, it's *not* a pitiful request -- it's perfectly reasonable. I've had abnormal pap smears, as well as abnormal mammograms. I know they're terrifying when you get the news. However, just as your friends have said, there was nothing wrong with me. I'm praying that the same will happen for your DD. Hang in there.

Oh, yes. the "pre-cancerous cells". That is what DD had a few years ago about the same time a dear friend of DH & mine had passed away very unexpectedly. I was truly a basket case because of both situations at the time. Luckily, after DD had the cone shaped removal, she has had no trouble since. Prayers for her good health and for calm for her mother. Good thoughts, prayers and virtual hugs coming your way.

I have endured the "abnormal Pap" report also, after 2 rounds with breast cancer. My doctor told me abnormal paps seem to be more common these days since they are being so careful due to lawsuits for not catching some of them. Keep us posted.

IN THE COOKIES OF LIFE, FRIENDS ARE THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS.

Thanks, Dee. I appreciate it.

Cindy

Thanks, Marlys. I knew other's experiences would help me think more clearly. I slept better last night thanks to all of you.

And how are you doing? I think of you often, dear.

Cindy
