That makes sense, Mary and if fact, that's the first thing I told Jen when she called me Friday. I appreciate the concern and I will definitely let everyone know when I know.

Thanks, Cindy

How CAN one like a little skinny girl doctor who looks like she doesn't eat? And it's hard to replace a good family doctor. Our family doctor took care of my grandparents and delivered my daughter. When she was 7 he moved. I haven't found anyone who I am as happy with.

Cindy:

Piggybacking here cause I didn't get the original message. I too, have had numerous abnormal pap tests. Just have to wait for the follow up one and it always comes back ok.

Several years ago I did have some pre-cancerous cells removed and have not had a problems since then.

Good luck to your daughter and am sending all of my good thoughts, prayers and ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))

I never had an abnormal Pap. And I think I am the only person I know who hasn't had one. Weird.

And many thanks for the good thoughts.

many people have told your their stories of false positives, so I will try to show you that even if it is an abnormal result, most likely it is not cancer yet and it can be taken care of before it would turn into anything malignant = it could be that she has or has had an HPV infection. some types of this family of virus can cause cancer but not all. and abnormal might just mean odd cells, not neccessarily cancerous cells but precursors, which caught in time could amount to nothing bad at all. good girl for having the test every year! if the diagnosis of transformed cells is confirmed, they might want to do cryotherapy i.e. freeze drying the abnormal area. you can also do a PCR based test that allows you to detect at least fifty different kinds of the virus, and they can tell if you have a good or a bad variety of the virus. BTW, the incidence of this virus is huge, especially among younger women...

I found this l> I've never done this before, but I have seen what these good thoughts > accomplish.

I'm starting to get a little peeved by negative comments about skinny women. Not everybody on this newsgroup has a weight problem. Just change the occupation -- how CAN one like a little skinny girl _quilter_ who looks like she doesn't eat?

You guys would pounce all over someone who made a negative comment about overweight women, but it's okay to bash thin women?

Grr.

Well, the NP I was referring to intially is not just thin but tiny and petite and cute, dangit. Wheras I, maybe be I'm cute, but tiny and petite aren't things I've been in a very long time. I think I was this woman's size in 5th grade... Maybe I have issues with her ability to wear things I would love to, but would look completely ridiculous in (i.e. little capris, fitted shirts, etc.)

I don't buy it. If I made a nasty comment about a big fat girl doctor who looks like she never stops eating, I'd have gotten pasted. I'm sick and tired of overweight women making snide, catty comments and jokes about thin women as if we're fair game. Sorry, we're not. I used to be

210 pounds (and I'm only 5'2", that's close to morbidly obese) so I know what it's like, but I'm under a crapload of stress right now and my patience is wearing through. A women doesn't deserve to be treated with scorn -- or bitter jealousy -- just because she wears size 6, or 4, or 2, instead of 3x.

Quilters are supposed to be kind, generous, understanding people, but I've seen the women on this newsgroup call thin women "skinny bitches," so it would appear that the kindness, generosity and understanding don't extend to us.
