Luv my quilts

My cold nose woke me up this morning. Living in South Mississippi, cold weather is a no-no. This winter has been exceptional with it snowing twice this year so far. I went to bed last night curled up in my favorite quilt with flannel backing. I snuggled down under my pile and got warm, you know that comfortable warm where you just slip off to sleep. The temps dipped down to about 20 and a hard frost. I woke up with my cold nose and was so comfortable I didn't want to move. No aches, pains, headaches, nothing.

I was so comfortable but... here come the cats, jumping up on the bed and in my face. It was time to go out and get fed.

Think I'll sneak off this afternoon and take a nap under my flannel backed quilt. Love that flannel.

I agree -- nothing better on a cold night than a soft, warm quilt. Fortunately, here in Michigan, I have lots of opportunity to use my quilts!

Sorry you're having to put up with "up north" weather! But a flannel-backed quilt is just what you need! I sure am glad you have it and the cats to keep you warm (at last I hope the cats help keep you warm).

Even here in southern Nevada the winter temps dip below freezing at night. I've got three quilts on my bed! :-)

I've started using an old fashioned rubber hot water bottle this year - the first time since childhood. Its so comforting, has a fleecy cover and is cuddleble!

We used to have electric blankets but gave them up about 15 years ago when we got decent insulation for the house and double glazing. But this year I need my hotty-botty!

I have this itty bitty little cashmere throw, intended to make a sofa look nice. It's the softest thing on earth and I have discovered it's also warmer than anything that doesn't beg for part of my supper. I love to cuddle under my little cashmere and put a quilt on top. But for nighttime, when temperatures can be single digits at times (and when we turn the thermostat down to 57F) we put a down comforter in a nice duvet cover on the bed on top of a flannel sheet. The cloud of warmth is just incredible. I keep quilts for summer time naps. Then they're just perfect.
