making a placemat

What do you use for batting when making a placemat? I used 80/20 and the placemat looks like a mini quilt.

Howdy!

Hobbs Thermore:

"Hobbs Thermore gives the flattest finished product..." Also good for quilt-as-you-go projects; otherwise it's Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 for batting. ;-)

I generally use Hobbs 80/20 for quilts and wall hangings, but for table runners and placemats, I like Warm'n'White. It doesn't seem as puffy. As Sandy/Ragmop suggested, Thermore would lay nice and flat.
