new pics

Well, last week I did finish my Hoffman Challenge quilt and got it off in the mail. I am not sure the quilt came out the way I wanted it to, it was a big change in style for me. All hand pieced, but machine quilted. Hexagons, starting out with a traditional Grandmother's Flower Garden, that morphed into an overgrown garden..... with surprises that many of you helped me with. Thanks again to those who sent me little bits of fabric.

If you would like to see pics, there are some not great ones on my webshots, in the Hoffman folder. Never did get a picture of the complete quilt. but you should be able to get the idea.

Pati, in Phx, still not sure whether or not I like the finished product.....

Beautifully made, Pati - and so unusual. The quilting looks lovely - and complements the piecing so well. I love the little hidden things - I do hope everyone goes looking for them. . In message , Pati Cook writes

Lovely Pati. Such a nice clever twist on the old standard.

What a fun quilt, Pati! I hope it makes it to the display in Houston so I can look for all of the hidden "goodies". :)

It would be fun to see it in Houston. I do hope it selected to travel. I do have pictures of last year's quilt at Paducah.

Well, I just love it Pati. Very whimsical and a new take on an old pattern which always attracts my attention.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Glad you all enjoy looking at the pics.

For further information, this little quilt was all hand pieced. But not with English paper piecing. I used Inklingo to print the hexagon cutting and stitching lines on the fabric, wrong side, with my computer. So you can add another "twist" to an old familiar pattern.

Sometime next month I should get word about the results.

Thanks again, and positive thoughts for the judging would be much appreciated.

Donna, you might check with the "Houston" group and see if anyone has space. I am planning on staying at Tina's again and am looking forward to it greatly.
