Love the pattern, but d****d if I can figure out the cutting instructions. Must be having a bad day! lol Never mind, I will look later and see if I can figure it out.

the squares you start with are all the same size, then you cut the focus squares in half diagonally. then you put a triangle on a background square right sides together, sew both sides of the triangle. cut on the diagonal going from the corner of the triangle to the uncovered corner of the background press open and there you have them :-)

That is clever - took me a while to get past the image of making half-square triangles at the beginning, but when I looked closer noticed the stitching, put brain in gear, realised that the background fabric square had not been cut in half at the beginning but the 'geese' had!

That is darned neat! I like it. And the sampler quilt is just beautiful! I wish the site were available in English, I am very poor with languages. But the pictorial directions are very, very clear.

oh dear, uhhhhh, the stitching on the pix isnt too clear to see. i did have to think about that a bit too til i noticed the stitching. hope Jess' explanation clears it up for you. could copy/paste the link into googe.com/ language tools page for a translation of the whole site once it starts. oh and click it to go from german to english of course, lol. hth, jeanne

i found something today that must of been updated since i last used it. i went to google. click on the language tools. you'll find a 'translate this page' i think is how it reads. copy/paste any page off that quilt site into the box on google and it will continue to translate all pages on the site as you click thru them. admittedly the translation is verbatim so a wee bit askew in english but close enough for me. click for german to english too. :) i hope that is clear. cheers, jeanne

There are sites on the internet that will translate for you. Do a search for German Translation. I was able to make sense of a family history by copying and pasting the German and then it auto translated for you. It is worth a try. Audrey

yup, i liked a couple of those blocks on her sampler. what i really liked was the different colour ways she showed on various places on her site. on google you can use the 'language tools' page, do translate this site/page? from german to english, copy/paste the link into google and it will continue to translate from there to all her pages. the english is a wee bit wonky but close enough most of the time. hth. cheers, jeanne
