OT accident

Well what do you know, I got a late bd present last night. A drunk driver hit me while I was driving home from my quilt guild meeting. Totaled the car and I ended up in ER. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be anything broken or bleeding, but boy do I have bumps and bruises.

I am very thankful that my Honda Accord protected me. My DH says it gave its life for me.

Ouch! That's definitely not the kind of present you want, but I'm glad to hear you personally are okay. Take care of yourself (pamper yourself as needed!) and hopefully you'll heal quickly. Here's hoping you feel better soon (bearing in mind that you definitely are doing better than your poor little Honda).

Ohmygoogness, Jan - what a fright. Thank goodness you are OK - cars can be replaced, people can't. You'll likely be sore for a few days so take it easy.

Oh my gosh. That is so scary, I am so thankful you were not hurt. Your car, IIRC, was one of those that rated high in crash-test ratings...RIP your Honda, and thank God you are okay. Drunk drivers, pffft. I hope the judge is as tough on him/her as the law allows.

Oh Naomi- how scary! I'm so glad you weren't hurt badly. Yeah, those sore muscles and aches and pains will be showing up in the next few days, so take it easy. Thank goodness you were in a 'safe' type of car. I drive a BIG pick-up truck because smaller cars scare me to death for reasons just like what happened to you with a $%#&% drunk driver.

Oh my, we are SO glad you are okay!! Bless your little Honda. Now make sure you get some rest, rest, rest this week-end. You are going to be more sore than you feel now. BTDT Gentle hugs,

Oh my goodness, bless your heart. Errr, ummm...I'm thinking ice is what you'll need to put on the bumps and bruises and that's not a very pleasant thought just now. You probably should prop your feet up and spend some hours turning through beloved old quilt magazines. That's a good way to rest without being bored silly. Polly

Healing thoughts coming from Scotland! Has the driver been found? I used to have a Honda Accord when I lived in Alaska, they are good little cars to have in the ice and snow as well.

Oh my gosh! Those bumps and bruises take a while to "develop" so don't be surprised if you feel worse in a few days. DO NOT settle with the other driver until you KNOW you won't have any lingering effects! I'm glad you aren't hurt significantly....take care of yourself for a while. Warm soaks in the jacuzzi would be nice!

What rotten luck - in one way, Jan - great relief that you are in one piece, on the other. Hope they throw the book at him. . In message , Boca Jan writes

OMG! What a horrifying experience. It is good you are okay!

I do hope the other driver gets taken off the road (or is that too much to hope for).

A totalled car is a pain - but it is wonderful that you were safe. Your DH was right, the 'cage' and other safety features of the newer cars are what makes them so expensive to repair (and it's why the insurance companies 'total' them rather than pay to repair them again) - at least, that's what the repair shop told me when DS's used range rover and DD's used SUV were 'totalled' after what looked to me to be minor accidents.

(((((HUGS))))) and positive healing thoughts are on their way! I'm so glad it was not as bad as it could have been! Hope they catch the other driver and find a secure way to keep him/her off the road... Take some recovery time and make sure to take good care of yourself.

((((HUGS)))) So VERY glad you are "OK" - although you are likely to be stiff and sore for a while.

I hope the courts are tougher on DUIs here than they are over here!!

What an awful thing to happen - thank heavens you weren't hurt too badly. I hope the drunk has the book thrown at him - too much of this stuff going on.

How awful, bet you're still in shock. You're so lucky you didn't have any serious injuries. Thankfully you were driving a sturdy car. Get well soon, Hugs Elly
