OT: Baby Update

Ok ladies, I have to share! I am scheduled to go into the hospital next Thursday afternoon and should be having the baby on Friday. It has been a concern that baby is so terribly small, measurements two weeks ago being a mere 4lbs 5oz. Measurements from today, just a short two weeks later, were 5lbs 11oz!!!! I don't know how true the measurements are, and won't find out until baby arrives, but at least we have surpassed my personal goal of 5lbs!

I'm so excited that I am jumping all over (but only in my mind, baby doesn't care for the jumping so much)!

So, by the end of next week, to the beginning of the following week, I should have another update for you!!! Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers a-flying please!

I'm excited for you! My first baby was full term and only weighed 5lbs 12oz --she's still trim and petite at 27 years of age.

Wishing you an uneventful delivery. :-)

Oh Dannielle!! That's wonderful news!! And if it helps at all.. I was told that those numbers are combined measurements of what they can see and put thru a formula. DD was actually MUCH bigger than estimated because she had a tiny head that messed with the formula ;-) Prayers are on the way!

OOO -- sounds like the little one is working towards being able to go home ASAP with Mom & Dad :-)! About 8 years ago, I had a neighbor who was *really* tiny -- barely 5'0" tall and just under 100#. Her DH wa BIG -- at least 6'4" and built like a heavy duty line backer. Well, she got preggers and had a full term baby that was only about 4# 10oz! FULL TERM and that tiny but healthy as a horse -- well maybe that should be a pony -- LOL! Unfortunately, they wouldn't send the little one home until she was the full 5# required by the hospital even though the baby was very healthy and full term. So -- saying prayers that the little one will be at least 5# when born so s/he can go home with you. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I've been thinking of you Danielle - as have we all I'm sure. So glad you have something definite now. It's really exciting to anticipate a 'known' date. Wishing you all the very best of luck (nice nurses and midwife etc), and prayers for you both to be well and recover quickly. . In message , Dannielle writes

I'll keep my fingers crossed! Giles was 5lbs when she was born (nurse put her thumb on the scale), and she's just fine!!!

Best wishes for a speedy, uneventful delivery.

I brought home a baby weighing 4 lbs 14 oz. He's now 6'2" and 200 lbs. I'm sure your baby and you will thrive too.
