OT: BOXTOPS! Again

Just an update - we have moved into 4th place but we are more than

1,000 behind. Now to top it off, the teacher of that class will be having surgery and we will be out for a few weeks.

(background - my school has a contest to see who collects the most Boxtops for Education.

class with the most wins a pizza party from the PTA. We have aspecial needs class with only 8 students - needless to say, they arealways in last place. Last year, some of students (including mine,I'm ashamed to say) made fun of this. This year I am determined thatthey will win!

Address to send them to is in the directory, or email me at: witchystitcheratyahoodotcome.

Thanks for all your help. It's also helping these kiddies with their counting, sorting, and classifying skills.

Why doesn't the school take the number of boxtops collected by a class and divide by the number of students? For example, 3000 boxtops collected by 30 students = 100. Then whichever class has the highest number, would be the winner. I think this would be a fairer system than what you have now, and might encourage smaller classes to try harder, rather than just give up.

That's a great idea Jo. I would hope the PTA would see that that is a fairer way to award the pizza party.

Because that would be too fair! I've been trying for that, but to no avail.
