OT: Cougars

This is way of topic but has to do with safety.

Recently in the area where I live, Pacific Northwest, a logger came across 3 large cougars. His dogs went after them and the man thought the dog had treed them. But then this logger got this weird feeling and turned around only to learn that the largest of the 3 cougars was charging him from behind and ready for the attack!

This logger (gads, I don't know how he did this) did the right thing and made himself look bigger then the cougar and charged right back. Yelling, waving his arms and such. He said he came within 20 feet of the cougar before the cougar jumped into the woods. He stated these 3 cougars have no fear of human beings at all.

I've been trying to spread the word as I use to live in this area and still have friends that do. Learned that one of them had been blackberry picking near this same area. So contacted the papers so the word can truly get out for the safety of all others.

Polly, where are your gators when I need them the most!

They're all out smiling for the tourists who are winding down their vacations before school starts. Their favorite is to manage a position that will snarl traffic in at least 3 lanes of I-65. Nobody keeps score; the gators always win. Polly

OK dear heart, where exactly in WA?? When I saw "Cougars", I was thinking WSU (LOL)! We are in WA also, about 16 miles above Portland, in a fairly rural area. Makes me worry!!
