[way, Way, WAY off topic] But I have to share

My DGD, (who sews, so perhaps a *little* on topic) is a bassoonist who want to be a professional musician. This being her final year in high school, she is applying to colleges. She has been accepted to three local colleges, Carnegie Mellon, and UT Austin, plus the two at the top of her list, Oberlin and Juilliard.

Hard decision, she consulted her bassoon teacher and several other musicians, friends, family,....

Two days ago, she finally committed. Beginning this fall, she will be a Kovner Fellow at Juilliard.

That is terrific, and a great choice. I would have said Oberlin or Julliard......or Berklee, but her choice will do well by her future.

Oh my Goodness! If I could have chosen any place in the world, it would have been Juilliard. So happy for you all! Polly

Hah! I would have said so, if I'd had to place a bet. I'm happy for her, and for you, too. Congratulations!

Wow, that is wonderful. A great off topic subject.

My son played the bassoon in High school and college, I love the sound of it.

I love it as well. Almost every time I go to their house, DGD is practicing, and I never miss a recital or performance.

That is just so wonderful, I just can't think of anything better. I've always felt that Julliard is the pinnacle for a music. Congrats to DGD and all the family. You must all be flying high. Juno
