OT: Going AWOL

Next Tuesday DH and I are driving to Seattle for my (finally!) appointment at Swedish Hospital Pain Clinic. We're going to stay for several days and turn it into a mini-vacation. I'm hoping for a trip to the museum and aquarium. DH is hoping for a Mariner's game, I think. Both of us are hoping for some relief from the stress and worry and such of the past few months.

I won't be posting until a week from today. I'll keep everybody in my prayers and good thoughts, and ask you all to do the same for me. I am trying hard not to expect anything or get my hopes up, but I can't help a bit of hope that the Pain Clinic will have something to offer me in the way of relief.

Everybody be good, or at least have fun.

Hugs, Sunny

Have a great trip! Wishing you all good things from the clinic.

I got no actual pain relief from my pain management course, but it was a great comfort to find others who live with the same sort of thing, and to discover how to manage and live despite the pain has been a great morale booster.

Our current heat wave (Hm... rained last night and feels a little cooler today) has set the fibro off agin, so I'm a bit grumpy! And way too busy with weddings and stuff to get into much trouble! Well, except for the planning fight... I've been taking my pain and irritation out on the planning committee and planing department minions! As my mum said, they make a good target! :)

Hope the trip goes well for you, Sunny. Fingers crossed.

I'll wave one too, Kate, where/who at? You know I have history with Chatham Dockyard!

Sheerness this time! Some pillock wants to build bunny hutch flats all over the gardens of the few bits remaining. We're fighting hard!

Sunny will no doubt be gone by the time I post this.

Chronic pain is something many of us have in common; we'll all be waiting to hear any news. A reminder for the rest - September is Chronic Pain Awareness Month. Many of us keep it to ourselves and suffer in silence; September will be the time to speak up & out.

Sunny, safe travels and I hope you find some help at your pain clinic. Chronic pain and depression go together, as I know well. I hope they can lend support and ways to manage both physically and mentally the stress your pain causes you. Good luck! Donna
