Feline AIDS does not present over the course of a weekend, nor is it so bad that they go downhill that fast. There are medications you can give him. There are lots of things you can do. It doesn't have a cure, but it does have a vaccine to prevent it (I believe, I may have this confused with another feline disease). There is an article on it here

. I have a friendwho has 2 cats with Feline AIDS and they are both in good health, justneed to be kept from being around other cats, so maybe it doesn't havea vaccine. I may be thinking of Feline leukemia with the vaccine part. I can't imagine that if Merlot wasn't sick when you left, this wouldbe the culprit of him looking sick just before you came home. Would itbe possible that someone left some poison out for some rodents that hemight have gotten into, or something like that? I know we don't wantto think like that of our neighbors, but someone deliberately poisonedthe dog I grew up with, and you hear about stuff like that in the cityall the time, and even here in the small town I live in now. I hopethis is nothing, and that he comes home soon, happy, healthy andwanting to be loved! Tigg
